Hampshire College Transfer Information

Apply by May 1

Submit your transfer application by May 1 via the Common App to be considered for transfer admission.

Send Transcripts

Request your Hampshire transcript to be sent to us. If you have attended more than one college or university, you must have official transcripts sent from each school (whether or not credit is desired).

When prompted on the Common App, you can select any reason to qualify for the application fee waiver. We’ll waive it on our end once you submit your application.

Applicants from Hampshire College will be prioritized and will receive their decision within three business days of the application being complete.

Students who have added UMass Amherst to their FAFSA prior to being admitted will receive the package within two weeks. Please find more information at our Financial Aid website: https://www.umass.edu/financialaid/undergraduate

Students should make their decision by June 1 or one week after they receive their transfer credit evaluation, whichever is later.

Students will receive an official transfer credit evaluation after admission. In general, every effort will be made to apply transfer credits to degree requirements.

A UMass transfer counselor will be at the Hampshire College transfer fair on Monday, April 20, from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. in the Robert Crown Center.

Virtual Hampshire College Transfer Information Session

We invite current Hampshire College students to join us for a virtual transfer information session. After a brief presentation that covers your next steps to becoming a UMass Amherst student, you’ll be able to move freely between breakout rooms in Zoom to talk to different offices about life at UMass Amherst. Participating offices include Transfer Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Success and BDIC (Bachelor's Degree with Individual Concentration).
